!!!-the peasants revolt-National No Gas Day-

i have been receiving a lot of e-mails about a national gas boycott on the 15th of May. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten hip to the latest digitized uprising of the masses? -and if they think one day of bicycle littered streets and tumbleweeds blowing through the Wawa pumps will actually make an impact?

if it does make the news, or a difference it will be amazing to think what else you could organize through mass emailing.

graduation for all i say - we're taking the Tub

Adding to that Ryan, have you seen all of the facebook groups that have popped up regarding this "stickin it to the oil industry" day?! There are all kinds of groups reminding people not to pump on the 15th (some as large as 6,000) as well as ones that encourage LOTS of pumping!! Kind of funny! It's difficult to just put down the keys... well I mean it would be for me. Hopefully we can start gravitating towards hybrids and more carpooling to help save the freaking world we live on as well as come up with more efficient ways to mobilize. I mean, with technology as advanced as it is today, why hasn't it happened yet? I liked your post!!!

I have heard about this before. I feel like there is one of these every year but no one really pays attention to it. I've heard that if no one used gas for one day the oil industry would lose millions upon millions. However, people have to use gas to get to work and go about their lives, so days like this really aren't possible. It is a good thought though

I too have seen lots of facebook groups and emails about this gas boycott on the 15th. One comment I read about it made a lot of sense though, just because people don't pump gas on the 15h doesn't mean they won't go out and buy it the day before or the day after. If the boycott were for a couple of days or a week it would probably have more of a noticeable effect rather than one day of low sales and a day of high sales shortly before or after.

considering this blog post garnered the most comments out of all of my previous posts - you can tell this topic hits pretty close to home and our empty pockets.
